First Look: The Apple iPad vs. the Amazon Kindle

On Wednesday on January 27th, Apple announced the Apple iPad.  It had iPhone OS, could use all the applications that the iPhone had on the App Store, and even has an iWork suite designed for it (Apple's alternative to Microsoft Office).  However, despite all these features, the most prominent feature of the device was that you can read books, magazines, web sites, documents, whatever you wanted on it.  And the screen is ideal for that, because it utilizes nearly the entire screen for reading, unlike many other tablets.  And of course, it comes with the typical Apple design flourish, with the beautiful iBooks Store selling eBooks on the iPad.

IEEE LAN Party!!!

We had some great times at the UCI IEEE LAN party as sponsors! In the above picture, we have Dan (who is our company manager), Derrick (who is the organizer of the event and works for us as well), and Tina (our secretary). This event wouldn't have been possible without these people, so I'd like to take this time to thank them. We had a decent turnout, as around 60 people showed up to play various computer and console games. We had a Starcraft tournament, Team Fortress 2, Half-Life, Half-Life 2, and Counter-Strike, as well as various other games on consoles. All in all, it was a night to remember for most of us.

Apple's New Magic Mouse

mouse
Apple’s newly released Magic Mouse is a big improvement on their old Mighty Mouse.
Quick overview:

Design: While the mouse is not as ergonomic as Logitech mice, the design is sleek and aerodynamic. However as a result it lacks the feeling that Logitech mice give of being apart of your hand.
As a mouse: With laser tracking and plastic buffers on the bottom the mouse is easily maneuverable on tables to jeans.
Touch scrolling: Apple utilized almost the entire mouse in providing touch sensitive capabilities. Almost every part of the mouse will respond to touch. (Diagram of features shown below)

Connection: Running on two AA batteries and bluetooth capabilities give you the freedom to use it as a portable mouse without the hassle of carrying along receivers.

Conclusion: Great mouse for the price at only $69

Inaugural Post!

This is our new company blog. Just a little about us, we're a pretty recent company. Your author, Mike Li, is one of the employees of this newly-founded company (started just last year). However, many of our technicians have been working on PC and Mac repair for years. Anyway, enough about us. I'm more excited about some software I found that have really helped us thus far...
